Good day listeners, readers and passers by,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Mine was nice, painfully warm, but nice. I have found that the Nashvillian summer and I have a hard time agreeing with one another. In fact, we are quite at odds. Almost every time I step outside into the steamy marshland that is June I find myself shaking a fist into the sky and shouting out random words and phrases such as “Why!?” and “How did it come to this!?”. In its defiant and unsympathetic response, summer, with a blast of thunder like the bellowing laughter of a German butcher, releases yet another downpour of hot, sticky rain upon my head. And for some reason, during these moments of uncomfortable defeat, I crave a frozen banana. Like the ones George Micheal sells in that banana stand on that show Arrested Development. I love those things.
Now, I feel as though I am painting my weekend with too dark a color. When I was able to find solace from the blazing sun things were great. I read, I wrote, I hung out with friends, I even caught the latest shreck movie. Many of you may think I’m a dork because of this, but I really liked it. There’s just something endearing about Pinnochio carrying around the gingerbread man in a baby carrier.
Anyway. It’s monday again, which means it’s time to get back to work. We’re tracking some more guitars today, among other things.

See, there’s me, tracking a guitar. The recording process is nearing completion, and I can’t wait to start showing all you guys what we’ve been doing. As the release date draws nearer (September 4th 2007) we’ll be leaking some tunes out here and there on my myspace and here on this blog. So stay tuned. I’ll talk to you all later. Have a great day.

oh and that is how i found your website by searching information on chocobananos/ frozen bananas….sigh
about the frozen banana….. sorry to bother you but this is killing me. I am trying to find out who, where and when was these frozen bananas invented. See my mother made them since i was a kid and she learned to make them in her country, El Salvador. these frozen bananas covered with chocolate are called Chocobananos, or are they? i cant find any information about those darn things… help?
Arrested Development is amazing. Just today after coming back from the beach I stopped at a small ice cream place and was going to order a mocha milk shake when I saw they also sold frozen bananas. This made me think of you, this blog, and arrested develpment. The pure bliss of these three things all blessing my thoughts at the same time made the long wait in scorching heat bareable. Thank you. I love your music and am bringing 4 friends with me to your concert the 20th of July. The passion of your music is amazing. Thank you again.
Arrested Developement is so awesome.
Haha. Arrested Development is my favorite show. Great reference there!
frozen bananas are awesome! and so is Shrek (i like when pinnochio absolutely cannot tell a lie). and King Jesus is why i breath. So i’d have to say you might be the male version of me! haha! I hope all is well with you. See you at creation next weekend. Exodus 15:2… curious?…. look it up!
Hello Phil–
I have to tell you I purchased my copy of your CD a good month ago (itunes recommended you to me) or more and forgot about it, as stupid as that sounds. I had gotten the new Travis CD (the boy with no name) and spent a couple of weeks on the treadmill devoting my time listening to it. When I got tired of it I remembered your CD somehow. I don’t know, it came to my mind and I found it underneath a stack at the computer desk.
I put you on my ipod and ran like crazy. I have to tell you that the thing that came to mind when I closed my eyes and heard your voice was Jeff Buckley, Chris Martin, and the lead singer to that band called The Shore (they sing a song called “Hard Road”). By the end of the CD all I could envision is King David and how your voice is how his voice must have sounded—how the words to your songs reveal a man after His own heart.
I am a singer myself and write music as well and I appreciate your vocal maturity and frankly, I have been looking for a Jeff Buckley-esque voice for years now since his passing. You are what Jeff could have been if he had been a child of God.
And also—your song ‘Messiah” upon hearing it, took the very breath out of my body.
i dont think ur a dork that movie was awesome!!!
i know what you mean about the hot summers AZ is probably just as bad but at least you get rain! i cant wait to get ur new CD it sounds amazing from the bits and pieces i have heard! keep up the hard work! have an awesome day, god bless
