Over the last few years it’s been an amazing thing to see how the songs I’ve been writing in my little bedroom have made their way into peoples lives all over the place. Being the occasional YouTube browser that I am, I’ve been able to see evidence of this firsthand. Whether it be a young student in their dorm room, or a Hungarian church congregation it’s always an honor and a blessing to literally see and hear how these songs are touching peoples lives. So I thought, “Hey, I should share some of these awesome videos with my blog friends.” So from now on, we here at philwickham.com, will be posting a “Cover Of The Month” video, or more simply put, videos of you doing Phil Wickham songs.
So grab your guit-fiddle and belt out a tune into that little mic on your video camera, upload it to YouTube, with the the words “Phil Wickham Cover” and the name of the song, and I will find it.Below is the first one, of many. I look forward to hearing and seeing what you guys come up with. Enjoy.
So there it is. Let’s see what else we can come up with.

I know we’ll be learning “True Love” for Easter– such a fitting song, really!
Maybe I’ll bring a camera, and a friend…
Sweet!

February 18th, 2008 at 9:36 pmI went to YouTube to see if anyone had posted anything under “Phil Wickham Cover” yet, and I found you doing a sound check and singing Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah.” I know he is one of your biggest influences. It was beautiful.

February 19th, 2008 at 9:36 amI’m not sure if you know this Phil but there’s this band that used to play at my church all the time that did a rad cover of your song “Come to Me.” The quality is great and its up on their myspace. There aren’t any videos that I can find, but its definitely worth checking out.

February 19th, 2008 at 2:31 pmBe expecting one from me after Easter. I’m singing planning to sing True Love for Easter at church [no worries, Julia, I didn't copy your idea, haha]. Also, I sort of played around with my guitar and got some chords that work for the song Home, so I may make a video and put it up, once I get at least decent at the guitar.

February 22nd, 2008 at 1:53 pmHey Phil. I would like to post a prayer request…
Wednesday night my friends’ mother died of a brain aneurysm. It was a complete shock to everyone in our homeschool group. It leaves me completely heartbroken, as she was a wonderful teacher and friend to myself and many other people.
What makes her sudden death even more heartwrenching, is the fact that this family lost their father just 14 months ago.
They left behind 4 of the strongest young men I’ve ever met.
Please pray for these young boys, as they will be making a lot of life-changing decisions in the next few weeks. Pray for strength, comfort, and clarity for each of them.
I have no doubt that God Almighty has an amazing plan for their lives, though it is not easy to see.
Also, please pray for me, and the many others who have lost such a wonderful friend…
Thank you.
“You give and take away…My heart will choose to say,’Blessed be Your name!’”

February 26th, 2008 at 2:52 pmI will work on one. It is not the singing in my case—it is the guitar playing. I am not a great guitarist by any stretch my strong suit is singing. But I can try.
And how in tarnation do you play Messiah? You don’t respond to comments but rarely—so just know we amateur guitarists are looking at you and thinking, “What?!”

February 26th, 2008 at 3:32 pmThat’s an awesome idea. It really is incredible to see the anointing of God in your songs! The Holy Spirit speaks to me so much through them. Mostly he speaks “you are not alone” because i have felt the emotions of these songs so many times and it reminds me that there are so many crying out for the same thing. Oh to know God more deeply! Be encouraged and blessed, God is using the gifts he’s given you and is so pleased that you give it as an offering and not for the fame.
