I’m Seriously Tired Right Now

photo.jpgHi everyone.

I’m sitting in the Newark airport in New Jersey, and I’m seriously tired. It was a great couple of days on the east coast though. Thanks to all who came out to the shows! Now its back to my lovely home city of San Diego for a few days of chillin’. Ahhh, home.

I walked into a glass wall today. I was texting and didnt realize it was there. It made a pretty loud noise but no one seemed to care. No ever seems to care in an airport. You know when your in that certain state of tiredness where the world seems a bit off. Kind of like being in a dream. Then you start noticing things that you wouldn’t usually notice, like the old bald guy sitting in front of me who keeps touching his nose with his tounge while he’s reading his morning news parchment. Hmmm, I probably would’ve noticed that anyway… Kind of grossing me out.

Hey, I want your guys’ opinion on something. I just started playing around with the idea of doing a live acoustic/worshippy record. Not sure about any details other than it’ll ne pretty low key and I would want it to be an engaging time of worship with mostly my songs. What do ya’ll think? Would you guys’ be interested in having something like that? Let me know.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I was tired and bored. Now I dont feel so much of either.

I just recently became introduced to your music, and I love it so. A worship album would be right up my alley…sounds like a FANTASTIC idea.

    =)

Ok, sorry just had to comment. You just made my day, well, rather, night, being that it’s 1:30am. I literally did a spit take with my cranberry juice when I read that bit about running into the glass wall thing.

I now have cranberry juice on my desk, but I think it was worth it.

    Cheers -Anne

  7. Thomas Mcauliff says:

I think the CD would be amazing! I heard you for the 1st time this weekend and loved how beautiful your lyrics speak of Christ. God Bless!

  8. Phil, I have been waiting for you to ask about that-Well of course! Do that acoustic worship-raw encounter God album thing. I saw you play live with your guitar at SMU in Dallas, TX and it was perfect. The presence of God flooded that room through you, your vocals and your Gibson. I went home telling the Lord that I needed to know him like you did. Twas amazing. Can’t wait for it. Bless you.

  9. Dawn says:

    Go for it, Phil!

Music moves people in ways we can’t describe. I believe your music brings people closer to Christ. Your lyrics, the guitar, your voice they add together to glorify and exalt the name of Jesus. A live acoustic/worshippy record would create a large impact on people. God is truly using you to be a testimony to all.

And I’ve actually heard you live with just an acoustic guitar when you opened for the davidcrowder*band in the hammerstein ballroom in new york last year. Impressive. God was magnified =] btw, hoping to see you once again at Creation 08! WHOO, cant wait!

So DO IT! I’ll definitely buy it.

    I’ve never run into a glass wall…
    I’ve run into a wall…
(I was 9 doing what kids do best…running without looking)
With that said, a worship c.d. would be simply divine.

  12. Andrew says:

Making a live record would be awesome! you should do it and I will buy it the day it comes out!!

  13. brian says:

ive been hoping you would put out an acoustic/worshippy, unplugged kind of album! i say do it!

  14. Lindsay Katherine says:

I was just thinking about this blog today while listening to your music on my ipod, and I thought of something. Even thought the idea of that old man touching his nose with his tongue completely grosses me out, that’s quite a talent! I mean, not many people can do that. :P
    (at least I can’t)
    It’s still rather disgusting though…

    haha

I can relate to that whole state of tiredness where the world seems like a dream..it’s an odd feeling!

lol that part about texting and walking into the door made me laugh because I’m a text-a-holic and that sounds like something I would do, for sure.

I LOVE the idea of an acoustic worship album…especially because I work for a christian radio station that plays worship songs only…lol..so yeah, I’d love that!!! Hey I could do an interview with you when you release that one! :-D DO IT!!!

PS. I Love your “devine romance” song, it’s amazing. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful music. Mesmerizing. Keep on writing man, you’ve got a gift, no doubt about it!

  16. Serena says:

hah, i was google’ing how to spell your last name and i’m so glad this blogy thing came up because i would love to support you in your latest idea:
i vote YES! on the acoustic/worshippy record. okay, i’m not sure if i should be telling you this or not, but…i have actually already experienced a recording of you doing a live worshippy sesh (i think it was at potter’s field ranch a while back). so, whether that was supposed to be shared or not – the point is that i LOVED it and you should make an official one for sure.
seeing that you already have 109 comments on this entry…it looks like the record would bless many a people.

  17. Randi says:

Totally do it. Your songs already really minister to people deeply and I know Kalispell appreciated the intimate setting of your worship music style…maybe even some random Spirit inspired prophetic bridges… Keep it up the good job! May God give you plenty of rest as you travel!!

  18. scott says:

something similar to “give you my world” would be great for worship leaders and worshipers alike.

    yes sir; i’d like that.

  19. Shawn says:

You would pretty much be stupid not to make that record.

  20. Lindsay Katherine says:

I think it would be great if you made a worship album. :)

haha. yeahh, gotta watch out for them glass walls. I myself am a pro at bumping into windows, even when I’m looking STRAIGHT at the window. Once While at Disneyland, I was texting and walking at the same time and I ran right into this random guy. I guess I’m a bit of a klutz…

Be sure to get some rest, you’re more likely to get sick if you’re body isn’t well rested. Don’t overdo it! =]

    ~God Bless

  21. Audra says:

“Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:2 You must be listening to God’s voice because I specifically asked Him to have you put a worship album together. Worship is sweetest and most beautiful not only to the Lord but to all of the saints who are led into His throne room!
I will pray that the Lord will show you exactly what you need to do. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Prov. 3:6

  22. Raquel TWG says:

    Phiiiiiil.
I made a video of myself playing/singing ‘Beautiful’ but it’s horrible, so I don’t know if I should put it up :\

  23. googly eyes says:

As in the words of Nike, “Just Do It”. I had pondered this for a brief moment and came to the conclusion that well, just do it. It would be phenomonal if you did made one and how about throwing in a live acoustic version of “I Love You”, love that one. So once again, ponder the idea no longer and everyone say it with me “Just Do It!”.

  24. Chris Blasius says:

If it was a perfect world I would love for you to do an acoustic worship cd of worship covers and make them your own…

  25. Brian says:

    Dear Phil,

    GET THAT RECORD GOING!

    thanks.
