I’m Seriously Tired Right Now

photo.jpgHi everyone.

I’m sitting in the Newark airport in New Jersey, and I’m seriously tired. It was a great couple of days on the east coast though. Thanks to all who came out to the shows! Now its back to my lovely home city of San Diego for a few days of chillin’. Ahhh, home.

I walked into a glass wall today. I was texting and didnt realize it was there. It made a pretty loud noise but no one seemed to care. No ever seems to care in an airport. You know when your in that certain state of tiredness where the world seems a bit off. Kind of like being in a dream. Then you start noticing things that you wouldn’t usually notice, like the old bald guy sitting in front of me who keeps touching his nose with his tounge while he’s reading his morning news parchment. Hmmm, I probably would’ve noticed that anyway… Kind of grossing me out.

Hey, I want your guys’ opinion on something. I just started playing around with the idea of doing a live acoustic/worshippy record. Not sure about any details other than it’ll ne pretty low key and I would want it to be an engaging time of worship with mostly my songs. What do ya’ll think? Would you guys’ be interested in having something like that? Let me know.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I was tired and bored. Now I dont feel so much of either.

It’s amazing. Last weekend I had the priviledge of worshipping with you at an event down the shore (called Bridgefest). Since then I’ve been looking you up and listening to whatever i can find. It was so funny to see this post as I suggested this very same thing(acoustic worship) to one of our pastors after your leading us in worship at our church on Sun.
    It would be wonderful!!!

Phil, I’m almost 50 (what does age matter?) and I just adore the Christ that pours through your spirit. The best music in the world is His! My 19-year old introduced me to you and I am humbly your true fan.

    My vote—for acoustic worship—YES!

Ah…so glad to hear someone else trying to describe the ‘dream like’ time where you don’t really feel like the world is quite the same..often I’m listening to music when it happens, and everything slows down a little and base lines seem to stand out more…weird!?
I know this is a rather late reply. But I had some time free and thought, hey why not..

Would absolutely be keen for that album. Keep it raw and real and all is good!

Dude, last time you were in Redding I left thinking, “i wish tonight had been recorded for a CD.” You sing with such raw power and emotion on your studio albums, but hearing the songs live, it’s like it’s just you and God and your guitar and we’re just getting a glimpse into your world. Please please please do an acoustic record! :)

  9. Shannon says:

Seek God and find out if it is His will for you to make this album. Always remember God is your audience, not necessarily the people buying your albums (though we all would say we are blessed to be able to worship our amazing Lord with your music)

I would buy it and then I would make sure that everyone I knew had one too!

  13. Hello Phil, it’s Krystal from Vegas!(The girl with the son Christopher)It was wonderful meetin’ you in Azusa last pm. I forgot to tell you how much I luv your music! I was really into getting my pic and such. I felt a little bad that I was totally focused on me and not encouraging you! Forgive me! ;-D Anywho, my son loves your music and even has his faves. (which means they stay on repeat many, many times!) He says you’ve got “cool” hair and a “great” voice. I personally appreciate your smooth sound and God lovin’ lyrics. I worship in my car with you often. About that acoustic worship cd, I say yes!!! It would be nice to have a “soakability” to it. ;-D Also, I have a special request (actually 2) One, can you also record a dvd of this acoustic recording or some other show? Two, if you actually read these yourself, would you mind mentioning that on your next blog? That would be more than cool! BTW, I am majoring in vocal performance, so if you need a back up for harmony on your worshippin’ cd, feel free to let me know. ;-) God bless you and your fam!

I’m all for the acoustic idea. So loving the You-tube vids, and I would love to hear more of that style!

Loving your heart for God, and the way He speaks through you to mine.

Brother to brother, a live acoustic worship record would be glorious. Let me know if you need some piano… ;)

    Hi Phil:)
I feel perhaps you and us fans are tuning in to “what’s trying to happen!”
An acoustic record is the first thing I thought about when I heard your videos on You-Tube. They really inspire me most…your personal romance with God is so palpable, and your devotion awakens the part in all of our hearts longing for Him. It’s the example of that intimate heart-feeling your live performances best capture that I think will have the greatest spiritual influence in authenticating and deepening people’s desire for a relationhsip with God.
By the way, if it’s not out of your way, please come to inspire lovers of God in the Nevada City/Grass Valley or Sacramento area of northern California – I would definitely come:)
Many Blessings and Joy to You!
