Hey yall,
A few days ago I crossed into the foreign lands of Canada for the first time in my life. The band and I played in a “hockey-rink-turned-arena” outside of Toronto. Good times. Nothing like singing some songs with some good old Canadian folk.
We had quite a lengthy break during the day so we went to see a movie. I can’t figure out if I like “Ironman” or if its just really cheesy. Any thoughts? I have yet to see the new Narnia movie. Being the Narnia fan that I am my expectations were fairly high for the first movie, and sadly they were not met. I suppose it’s foolish to expect a movie about a book to rival the book itself. I don’t think I’ll be so hard on the new one.
I spent the last few days at a camp in rural southern Louisiana. No TV. No phone. No computer. Just me, the campers, Jesus, and a few canoes… Is that how you spell canoe? I highly recommend a trip like this every once in a while. Though I’m a little sore from an 8 mile canoe trip, I feel refreshed.
Now its on to Tuscon. Hope you all have an amazing day.

Prince Caspian was cool, Iron Man was a delicate mixture of both cheesy and awesome. And I agree, the first Narnia movie was nothing compared to the book.
Good call.
oh, and ps. I can’t wait to see you at creation east in a couple weeks.
Hey Phil,
when I read this blog, I thought of this tshirt that you might like.
here’s the link if you feel like going there.

I haven’t seen Prince Caspian yet. I really want to see it! I was also a bit disappointed in The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe. I have read the books so many times and I could see several little changes that were made. Also, could any movie ever capture the essence of Lewis’ narration? I think it would be difficult. There is so much that I don’t think any movie could ever quite capture. I’m glad these movies are being made, though, since they are bringing a wonderful series of books into the public awareness once again. ^_^ I can’t wait to see the Prince Caspian movie! ^_^
Ah, I haven’t bothered to watch Ironman. I heard it was really good though, it’s just not my type of movie. I love camping! I look forward to it every summer. I still use my phone while i’m there though, good ol’ Verizon. Anyways, can’t wait to see you here in Los Angeles!
Overflow was amaing
and Cannons is an amazing album, but hearing it live, wow
incredible
i thought iron man was fantastic, and i haven’t met anyone else who didn’t agree. i would go so far as to say if you did’t like it then you probably don’t love jesus… i am completely kidding. please, nobody throw lightning bolts at me.
yeah, when I forgave the movies of its shortcomings, I actually enjoyed watching Caspian. I gave the 1st movie a very hard time. Love the books!
wow.. i just got home from seeing prince caspian!! omg it was b-a-n-a-n-a-s!!! haha it was definately awesome :] cant wait to hear what u think philly**

Yes, you spelled canoe correctly and yes, the movie is never as good as the book. Caspian and Susan had a thing goin’ on, just to warn you.
Anyways, you came to Manhattan, Kansas in october of last year, and we all absolutely loved you, you should consider coming back, please! You’re music will continue to encourage me, even if you never come back. I was moved to tears by “true love,” and realized God was my love I just needed to let him fill the hole.
Is there a date for when we can get a hold of the live recording in Portland yet? Oh and I though the new Narnia movie was awsome!
Hey Phil! I saw the movie (Narnia) yesterday. I thought it was really good. I don’t think I like it as much as the first one though…. and I agree with the other ppl that said this: the ‘romantic’ part with Susan, and Prince Caspian was really random, and it had a ton more fighting then the first one, but it was really good. With most movies, the sequels aren’t as good as the first, except for Narnia, and Spider man. Spider man is a good “series”… so ya. I don’t think I will ever see ironman. I personally don’t think I would like it. ttyl!!! God Bless!! ~Ellie
Ironman, nah not cheesey, good. Narnia; awesome. They did a good job with it actually. My expectations werent very high going into it, but then i was shockingly surprised at how well it was done. Of course it wasnt right on with the book and alot was added but that had to happen because the book really isnt long enough to make a 2 hour movie out of. so..two thumbs up.
Go see Narnia Phil, its great. It blows the first one out of the water. Definitely one of my favorites so far this year, the only thing you might not like is that it has a good bit of changes from the book. But theres a lot more action and stuff, not so much of the boring family stuff which seemed to ruin the first.
oh when are you gonna share those awesome live songs with us? I’ve been on the edge of my seat
Hey Phil,
I’m glad you had fun in Canada. If ever you can, stop by Montreal, Quebec sometime
!
Narnia – pretty good, but I liked the first one better. And, like just about any movie adaptation, it’s not as good as the book. It’s still an enjoyable movie, though, and I recommend seeing it!
