Have you ever woken up to a fire alarm in the middle of the night and had to evacuate the place you were sleeping?  I have.

This January I was at a conference and the alarm went off (VERY LOUDLY). It ended up being the toaster causing smoke in the lobby, but it was kind of amusing/scary how many people just totally ignored it! And of course it was amusing seeing all my buddies at the conference in their pj’s, etc. HA - fun times! Glad you’re alright.

Yes! We were staying in a hotel (we being my sister and I, and our parents!) The fire alarm went off and we all had to go down to the lobby. Fortunately, we didn’t have to evacuate in our PJ’s! It turned out to be someone smoking in one of the rooms…silly people. Thankfully, there was no real fire.

    “GLAD YOU’RE OKAY! :D”

Unfortunately, I haven’t. If the fire wasn’t serious, I think it’d be so cool to do that. I’m odd, but I haven’t had many cool life experiences.

Oh, Phil! Wow, that’s pretty scary. Glad you’re all okay. But hey, if you would’ve come to Cincinnati instead, not only could you have avoided this catastrophe and gotten a full night’s sleep, but I would have been exceedingly happy :)

    Phil,

I was at Breathe when you were performing (I was the girl interpreting your songs into sign language if that helps). Anyhoo, this is proof that you totally should have stayed at the camp grounds with us and eaten lots and lots of smores…mmmmm…good times good times!! I guess this picture gives new meaning to Switchfoot’s song “On Fire”. “…I’m on fire when You’re near me. I’m on fire when You speak.” Were you singing that in worship? Maybe God took it literally. You know He has a sense of humor!!

Glad you are okay! Keep going after God with all you have!

    Sincerely,
    Kilikilina

happened once in college. not a real fire, but had to evacuate anyway. one guy happened to be in the shower at the time, and had to come stand outside in a towel. it was pretty funny. he ended up standing all alone, ’cause, you know, nobody wants to stand near the naked guy…

Yes. It’s not fun. And try it w/2 kids who are sleeping unbelievably soundly, so that you have to wake them up. And try it in the beginning of winter in Alaska. Totally not fun. I’m with ya.
