Barnegat, NJ

Me and Mal backstage at a church in New Jersey. I’ve got my christmasy shirt/blazer combo on and ready to rock the little drummer boy song tonight. What’s your favorite Christmas song/record. I love the instrumental Charlie Brown Christmas CD… And Nat King Cole.

LoL! I am going to sound like the world’s biggest dork (which I may be) but here it goes…. I love Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers Christmas Cd. It’s been my favorite since I was a little girl. Pretty much a secular Cd all except one song but I love it. God bless you all.. Phil and Mal and the rest of our lovely Jesus centered family!

  3. nat king cole is what my dad loved to listen to. after he passed it was always a way i could remember him by. right now, i’m totally diggin’ the mercyme christmas sessions. they rock pretty hard on that!

  4. ya’ll are precious! a happy and merry christmas to you both! ps. vince guaraldi trio’s “Charlie Brown Christmas” spins in my iPod even when it’s July. Good choice, my friend. ps. i saw you at a Dallas concert in 2006 and told you i would be in Korea soon writing for a year. i was inspired by your connection with the Holy Spirit when you were singing your songs…Long story short…i told the Lord i needed to know you the way you did and write from that intimacy…it happened! he gave me some sweet tunes while i was there. ok. enough blabbing from a stranger! rock for the Rock. bless you.

Vince Guaraldi’s compositions for A Charlie Brown Christmas is easily in my top favorites.

For nostalgic purposes, The Chipmunks Christmas music is a favorite.

But really, basically any X-mas music is a win.

Oh, and I agree with what someone said earlier…a Christmas album from you would be amazing.

Little Drummer Boy, huh? I used to watch that movie all the time- Christmas or not.
Charlie Brown is great. Especially Linus telling the Christmas story. :D And then when they break into “Hark the Herald” at the end.
Third Day’s Christmas cd is really good.

sufjan stevens “Hark! Songs for Christmas”…freakin amazing album

  25. Joel says:

Charlie Brown is good. Favorite of all time has got to be A Christmas Together by John Denver & The Muppets. I guess there’s a bit of sentimental thrown in there since we were practically forced to listen to it as children.

Then there are some modern ones like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s projects.

I also am listening to more and more hymns. Red Mountain Music and Andrew Peterson both have great albums out.
