The day is almost upon us. The next time the sun rises it will be the dawning of the day of love. Mallory says that as a wife she’s not much of a fan of the holiday. She says she would rather have consistency in the smaller things on a daily basis rather than one big day of loving fanfare used to make up for the weeks and months of romantic neglect. I think I agree. What I do love about Valentines Day is the wooing aspect. It provided an excuse for long awaiting hearts to make their intentions known and let the dice fall as they will.
So here’s my question:
What are you all planning for the big day? Whether you’re lassoing the moon or doing nothing I want to know.
Phil

I flew to Nashville on Vday and had a Kung Fu Panda Party with my friends.
Mary Ann, I think you probably had the most productive and enjoyable V-Day of all!!
Mary Ann, you prolly had the best one!!
Oh, I had no Valentine on V-day. But I still had a great day. I spent it at a fair, telling people the Gospel.
I am also late on this >> well what i did on valentines was i decorated my wonderful boyfriends room it was cool. It was last min and i only how about a couple of hours before he got home from work but i did it with the help of a friend and made it out of the house before he got home to see it… which he loved:) soo that was the friday before on saturday we went out to dinner with my family and he got flowers sent to me at the resturant which let me tell you phill and mal! if you are ever in northern California Los Banos its the most wonderful place ever, its like this resturant that doesnt have menus and they sit you down on long pinic type benchs and they ask you would you like pork chops, chicken, new york steam, and a couple of other things. then they just bring you tons of food Beans salad bread, lamp stew, homemade french fries…(actually everythings homemade:) some more yummy veggie soup, and then by the time your super full they bring out what you picked in the beginning of this long process… and of course at the end ice cream… its really relaxing and its cheap eighteen dollars even (everytime should i mention ) but the thing thats werid is you have to ask for a drink .. they dont offer unless you ask…. ooh i guess i should tell you the name its called woolgrowers… soo i had fun .. and i have fun everytime i tell people my experience at woolgrowers! but besides the fact i had a wonderful valentines day..
v:)
I am totally late with this. We went to Annapolis, MD to take our visiting niece out to see the sights. I forgot it was Valentine’s Day! I did, however, get a big box of chocolates! I gave my hubby a box full of Atomic Fireballs. He is still polishing them off.
When you have kids finding a sitter is a problem, especially if family is far away.
Hey Phil,
Listening to your upcoming music is awesome. I can’t wait! Heard a few new songs at Liberty 2/13. I was the star-struck lady you meet in the hall at the hotel the night before the concert. I also left the note on your door. I really admire you, your music and your heart for the Lord. Your lyrics inspire me and draws me into worship with the King. Keep up the great work. Gale
So, My Valentine is a Marine stationed in NC and I live in WA. Kinda sucks. He found out last month he has to go to Afghanistan before he gets to leave the Marines.
For Valentine’s I sent him a gift box with sweethearts in Spanish, a hand made card (They just don’t make them with the nickname “My Angel in Fatigues!”) and a mini picture frame with a few of me for him to take to Afghanistan with him. Of course, he had to outdo me. A month in advance, he asked me to MARRY HIM!!!!!! A That amazing redhead with a heart for God and ministry, soft brown eyes and deep rich voice wants to marry ME!! Thank you God! So when he gets back… I get to marry the guy of my dreams!
So Phil, my Valentine’s was spent approx 3500 miles from the one I love, but a “good morning” call and an “I love you, Good night” call made my day.
Then again, he calls me every morning to say “good morning, I love you!” Am I not the luckiest girl on earth?
Well, I am celebrating Valentine’s Day under another name: Single’s Awareness Day!!! Shout out to all the people celebrating Valentine’s Day with the Lover of their soul.
I agree with Mallory completely.
Honestly I forgot Valentine’s Day was today. The only reason I remembered is because my friend Brittany lef me a V-Day comment on my page.
I’m usually the first person to leave a friend a comment on any holiday but I forgot V-Day.
All well.
God bless you Phil!!
My husband and I feel the same way. I’m thankful that we have it so good all the time.
He took the day off work yesterday and we spent it together, mostly like I would anyway; he came to work with me and we had lunch together. I bought some tulips and we played games with some friends. Today we are having a quiet day with the kids…to me, the fact that we have romance and mutual respect every day of the year makes today special.
I’m glad married life is going so swimmingly for you and Mallory.
P.S. My husband and I have spent the past two days mostly discussing that you are coming here in April. Ha! It’s been a Phil Wickham themed Valentine’s day.
Its S.A.D
Singles Awareness Day.
I plan on avoiding all mushy gushy lovers.
hahaha
Ohh and I will be praying for my future beloved.
I believe strongly in praying for them to stay pure and such things that will help protect my heart in the future.
yup :]
I’ll be playing a battle of the bands with my band Apple Horse. Should Be Fun.
Well, my husband left this morning for Alaska for an undetermined amount of time, so I am hanging out with our two sons. Tonight I have a date with a girl friend of mine whose husband is currently deployed to Iraq, so that will be fun. I agree with your wife, and my hubby and I don’t actually celebrate Vday, so tonight is more about getting her out of the house than anything else. Good times!
Today I will be hopping in the car with my girl and headed to the mountains for a picnic. We think it’s probably going to rain so were going to spread a blanket out on the back seat of the Honda never the less. Our target spot is over looking Cold Mountain. Last time we went to this certain town they had some bluegrass bands randomly playing in the streets so were hoping that happens again. It was very hippieish and we loved it. We’ll probably consume some scrumptious food for dinner and then exchange gifts.
I’m really looking forward today as I’ve been getting surprise little notes from her for the past week. It’s been nice to hear I love you from your sock drawer, stuck in my cell phone, and underneath my pillow!
I don’t think valentines day is meant for you only to be romantic on that day. I feel like it is another day but one where you should intentionally do nice/romantic/sweeping off feet motioning things for each other.
I’ll be spending time with family, going for a nice jog outside, buying birthday presents for my roommate..and getting homework done! God hasn’t brought the guy He has planned for me just yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to the day He does.
Plus I really like the pic you chose Phil!!!
Well I’m not really doing anything just hanging out with family!
But what I can say is I can’t wait till God brings my husband to me because I really can’t wait to have a specical day like this to celebrate what God has done, bringing that special someone to me!!!!
God Bless!
ive actually never even looked forward to valentines day untill this year. i guess i just got someone to spend it with now
probably going out to a basketball game, dinner after, then giving her a giff that will hopfully be warmly welcomed
it should be a very hearty day
I get to help my friend move furniture! w00t!
It’s So nice to read you again Phil! mmm.. Yeah! I feel identified with your opinion. San valentine has a good waiting expectation.
Amm, good question. Yeah, I just been thinking on someone special; someone maybe in God’s will that I would like to know, and tomorrow is just… perfect!
greetings and blessings, Happy Valentine’s day for you and ‘mal’.
Nothing! I share the sentiment as Mallory.
I feel the same way as your wife. Today at work I was asked the inevitable…”what are you doing for V-day?”. My reply was…Everyday is valentines day for my husband and me. Boy did i get a lot of rolled eyes for that one.
Well, I LOVE Valentines Day! Sure we should be consistant in our
.
romantic outward show of expression to our loved one, but hey, what an awesome time to really pull out all the stops. So fun!
My husband and I are going out to dinner and we always give each other a sweet gift
