  2. Ann Marie Frierson says:

So whenever someone is able to tell me the difference in dying or cutting one’s hair, buying a particular type of clothes, piercing one’s ears, or anything like that and getting a tattoo, then I might consider pondering as to whether it’s wrong or not, but until then, I say go for it! If one’s body is a temple unto God (which I fully believe) then how is it wrong to decorate that temple with awesome and beautiful artwork like stained glass or banners? What’s the difference between those and tattoos? And as far as distractions go, or people worrying about the outside appearance, then that’s there bad, they shouldn’t be looking there for a judge of character anyway. That’s like looking at someone wearing all black, and staying away from them because you may think they’re Satanic or something, when in reality they just got off work at a restaurant where that’s the uniform. The things of this world will fade away, yes, but while they’re here, I see no harm in coloring them up a little.

1 Corinthians 7:4 “And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. ” Looks to me like the only person on earth that gets a real say in whether Phil should have a tattoo or not, is Mallory.

  4. Howard says:

you should do what the Holy Spirit tells you to do in your inner man(spirit). Those who are the children of God will be led by the Holy Ghost. The Bible says that if we don’t have the gift of the Holy Spirit we aren’t really saved. We haven’t been born again. The gift of the Holy Spirit is the proof, the evidence.

  5. Norman says:

    So is the tatoo real?

  6. desiree says:

hey phil, though you look hott either way,as a christian, not about what religion says, you should know that you shouldnt mark your body in any way!

  7. double A says:

Outward appearance is trivial, yes, and as most have said it is all about the heart. My thing is, what is the motivation. If we should be living our lives to glorify God , then cool, but if we get a tat to stand out so we seem more legit or to be original, than that isn’t glorifying God, it’s just glorifying the flesh. Which, if that is the case, then our heart condition isn’t in the right place. Whatever though, i think it’s fake anyways.

  8. Jake Bombaci says:

    solid.

  9. Christi says:

I think a couple of these comments about it not being right, is a little ridiculous…such religious statements!
I think you should get it too.

  10. Malee says:

Faker. Fakey, fake, faker. It would be cool… if you would have actually done it. You should get the full on sleeve, it would be awesome. If you do, I will, and that’s a promise. Alright, so I won’t. But you should, definitely.

  11. Patrick says:

I like it man, looks great.

Keep the music coming… you were awesome at the Columbus Vineyard… I’d love to see you come back sometime.

    God Bless,

    Patrick

  12. Tasha says:

Your body is a temple unto the Lord, and you chose to mark all over yours. Nice. :(

    1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

I am not saying I am perfect, I am also not in the public eye with many young people watching how I live for Christ.

    • Judd says:

but dosent that verse go on to say “you were bought at a price. therefore honor God with your body.”(niv) If a tattoo represents in some form or fashion a personal glorification of God is it wrong? just something to think about.

  13. Sonya says:

I don’t get it but then I’m almost older than dirt. Not something I would judge someone by for I know the heart is what matters. However, it might temporarily distract me from being able to see what’s important.

  14. Audrey says:

Is it real? I’m not against tatoos, but I liked your arm before.

  15. Shoua Ly says:

I love the green walls with the dark furniture.
    Look at your face Phil…LOL
that facial expression definitely goes w/ the fake tat…LOL
    you’re humorous!
God loves you. Keep working for the lord.
    Luv U!!!

  16. Luis says:

I like the tat it looks good

  17. Spence says:

LOL. I get the joke now.
And we all bought into it.
    Rest y’all, stop bein’ pharisees.
So concerned with how washed the outter appearance is.
If appearance mattered, he woulda told John the Baptist to get some real clothes.
Jesus is after 1 thing, and ONE thing alone: Our hearts.
The body will fade, the heart is eternal.
All this excitement for nothin. I love a good joke :) .

  18. Spence says:

Wow, did you really get a sleeve done?
Very nice, I’m a huge fan of celtic art.
I’m gonna get the Hindi word for worship (or adoration) on the inside of my arm I think. “Aradhna.” It’s also the name of a Christian Indian worship band.

  19. Joesmo says:

Chuck Smith said it was OK to have a tattoo. ;)
for all you that have such a big opinion on something as small as a tattoo, my advice is get out of your house and experience the real world. Why are we as Christians attacking one another when there are people that are doomed for eternity right outside out door. It has never been a job for Christians to judge one another.

    Love you Philly!!

  20. Julie says:

I thought it was fake……. Oops!! It’s not?
Anyways, Phil, I love your music! I wish my radio station (air 1) would play it more often!!!! <3 <3

  21. Phil! Awesome tattoo!

I just want you to know I love your music and how the presence of God just flows in the room as you play. One thing though, I think you’re voice is a bit high. So sing songs in lower keys… that way I don’t have to transpose them so I can sing them. lol. Never mind it rocks! Blessings man!

  22. holly says:

Looks cool. Props Phil…Keep Walkin in the Spirit bro. The LORD bless you and your wife :)
