What’s up Phil? I pray that GOD continues to surround you and your brother Evan with favor as with a shield. I caught you with Leeland at Rolling Hills Church in Tualatin. I never heard any of your music previously. Your unique guitar playing, and vocal range blew me away. I was so lifted in the Lord that night, all the way to the heavens. It was an experience I will never forget. The difficult cords and stretches you play on Fools Wisdom is undeniably incredible. I went home and the next day I watched many of your you tube videos. That’s where I seen and heard Fools Wisdom. You are my favorite artist out there for many reasons. God spoke to me clearly and said that if I apply and dedicate myself in a certain way that I will be able to do what you are doing! Lord Bless You My Brother in Christ. May he watch over you and your family. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!!!!!!
Dear Phil,
I was wandering if you have ever played your music live for people who don’t exactly have God in there lives. I wasn’t suggesting you do anything dangerous, but maybe you could secretly (as in unanounced) play in a bar or a club or something so that others can listen and have hope. Anyway, I really like your music. Please reply. Thank you.
Ok so yall are coming to Atlanta right? Cuz at this point (Im a flight attendant for Airtran) Im thinking Id have to fly somewhere to see yall live! We would love to see yall here this year!!! Oh and yes I remember cutting the bottoms of the jeans! Haha
Phil and Mal we love yall and be blessed in the Lord!!! Well be praying for your safety as you travel!!!
hey Phil you should make a video of your tour bus and of all the people and say that Lana, Anna and Elena say hi to all of you guys lol thanx it would be so great!!!
Wow this is cool, its really nice that you answer some pretty “intersting” questions from fans, you should do this again… i have lots of questions. I would really like to know how you answer questions from mozes.com…. thanx Phil God bless….
Until your concert in Spokane, I was pretty unfamiliar with your music. Since then, I have purchased Heaven and Earth. This afternoon, I set aside all other tasks and sat down with my headphones, my ipod, and the printed words to your songs and listened to Heaven and Earth straight through from beginning to end…. What a joy it was. I can only imagine that the life of a Christian performer is really kind of a tough life, full of dangers and temptations, exhaustion, homesickness and maybe the feeling of futility… meeting group after group of people you’ll most likely never see again. May Jesus uphold you and your wife in your ministry. Thank you for the blessing of your beautiful music. You’re bringing heaven to earth in this, your gift from Christ and helping me people like me enjoy the wait for His return so much more. Please come back to Washington soon.
I wanted to say thanks for posting this and answering some of the questions you did. It was very encouraging for me to hear. Thanks also to all the people who posted those questions, they were awesome.
Hi, Just wanted to say that your “Heaven Song” really makes homesick…:) Heaven is getting closer everyday, may we all find the strength and courage to hold on to His promises and draw closer to Him everyday. Jesus is coming soon! Heaven will be beautiful beyond our wildest dreams:) Can’t wait!
Oh, and Phil Wickham, your music needs to come back on to Spotify. Your latest album is not avaliable on the norwegian iTunes store, so I’ve basically been listening to it on Spotify, but now it’s gone… Go to spotify.com, and you’ll see what it is. It’s awesome, it’s swedish, and I think it’s coming to the US soon. You can even have it on your iPhone!
“All creation felt the Fathers Broken Heart
Tears were filling Heaven’s Eyes”
This song implies that the Father’s heart was truly broken as he watched men nail his innocent Son to the cross. Is this the way the Bible speaks of Christ’s crucifixion?
Isaiah 53:10 – Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; He has put him to grief.
John 13:31 – (As Judas leaves to betray him hours before his crucification) – Now is the Son of Man glorified and His Father glorified in Him.
Acts 2:23 – This Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.
Revelation 13:8 – The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
God the Father was not in heaven weeping with all of heaven brokenhearted and helpless and his Son was crucified. Instead, before the foundation of the world, the Father and Son agreed that Christ would be put on display and appointed to die and it was according to their definite plan and foreknowledge that he offered up his life. Therefore it pleased the Father to crush his son, to put on display his wrath and hatred against sin, and his great love and mercy for sinners.
No. Tears were not filling all of heaven. Rather all of heaven was glorifying the Father and the Son saying with a loud voice the same thing they say at this very moment, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!” Revelation 5:12
It was God who crucified and killed His Son for His great name. And I will spend eternity praising Him that he was pleased to crush His Son to save a wretch like me.
I don’t want to argue with you but this is my perspective.
If I had a son whom I loved with all my heart and who obeyed and trusted me with his whole heart and he out of obedience chose to go and give his life for the people I loved, I would be pleased with Him, yes, and I would be pleased with the outcome of his death and resurrection which brought life for the people I love. But in the moment of the son I love who held nothing back for himself but became obedient to death on the cross I would probably be crying. I would be crying because my son had been rejected by the people he was dying for, I would be crying because I was proud of my son, I would be crying because my love through my son had been rejected, I would be crying because I loved him and he was dying. In God’s Word it says that Christ for the joy set before him endured the cross. That doesn’t mean that he liked it and it also doesn’t mean that God didn’t see or acknowledge the pain Jesus was going through. I know God wasn’t sorry for His decision, but I do agree with the song, that He cried.
Thanks for all the verses and sharing God’s word, it was very helpful.

Always good to learn a little more about you and how God has led you, Phil.
Oh, and by the way, Spotify is a digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs, kind of like iTunes but you can listen to the whole song/album without having to purchase it. I don’t think it has officially launched in the US yet, but I did notice your stuff had been removed when I was introducing a friend to your music.
I hope God continues to fill your with His Spirit and His Blessing, that you may continue to be a vessel for his creativity and glory, bless you brother!
P.S. Nice work holding the fort on the blog, Mal, you’re doing an awesome job!
