Haha, my most embarrassing moment happened just a few weeks ago. I was in this skit for my church choir when we went on “tour” (It was really more of just a mission trip, we just liked to call it a tour because we performed a few times on the way to Tennessee where we worked on houses) So, we performed the skit 6 times flawlessly. The very last time we performed it, it was in at our final concert which we do every year after the tour for the people back home. Naturally this is the time where we’re supposed to do everything perfectly and get everything right. Well, the skit I was in was about 5 or so people who have an “emptiness” (a big black dot on our shirts which we duck taped on for the skit) and we’re discussing how we’ve tried to fill it. Then a Christian comes up and explains that the only way to fill the emptiness is through God. Well, it was all going okay until I realized that the duck tape had folded up and wasn’t sticking to my shirt. That would have been okay if I didn’t have to put my hands behind my back, therefore letting go of the emptiness…and watching it fall to the ground… in front of my entire church. (Which is a pretty large church) It was pretty embarrassing, but it was all okay in the end. Yours is probably more embarrassing than mine
Well, my most embarrassing moment was at a basketball game. I wasn’t playing basketball that game, I was just watching. During halftime my friends all wanted to walk down to the store around the corner from the gym to get some food. Well of course I wanted to go with them so I quickly tried to take my ipod out and put it in my bag so I could go with them. It took a little longer than normal to put it away, so by the time I got it put away they were almost out of the gym already. So I hopped up and started to run down the bleachers, but about the 4th one up I tripped and flew all the way to the floor where I fell flat on my face. I laid there for a few seconds trying to figure out if I was gonna get up or just stay there the rest of my life. I decided to get up and walk out, but as I am walking out the lady who was collecting money asked me if I was alright. She saw it too?!!???!!
When I was younger, my family and I went on vacation to Disney World and one of the hotels we stayed at on the way had a lot of Spanish-speaking employees. My older sister had taken a little bit of Spanish in school and told me I should go say “Hi, how are you?” to one of the male workers. I thought that would be cool, so she told me how to say it (or so I thought) and I went up to him and repeated what she taught me. The man gave me a really uncomfortable smile and walked away. Baffled, I turned back to my sister who was laughing hysterically. She then admitted that what I had really told the guy was something along the lines of “I think you’re very attractive”. It was mortifying, to put it lightly….. What a great sister God has blessed me with. lol
Btw Phil, might I suggest wearing shin guards the next time you are considering a cool stunt like that? They’ll save you some pain and embarrassment -well, the pain at least. They probably won’t save you from any embarrassment because wearing shin guards on stage is embarrassing in itself. haha
Omgosh….little things I’ve done like once being so late for dinner somewhere in CA — it practically was the next day. Lol. (Nobody answered there phones!) Crazy.
Or, speaking to my pastor one morning at prayer (earrrrly)and somehow realizing
I had 2 different earrings on!!! :@)
Haha, that’s so funny Phil! Cute video too!!!
Well lets see can’t think of my “most” but one year wehn I was at youth cmp we were doing this talent thing so people could go on stage and do their little whatever. Anyways, in the rec room there was this big bucket of gum people could have ( I <3 gum!) So I had a lot in my mouth, and I was in the crowd and I blew this HUGE bubble, so everybody turned aroudn to look at me. Then the leader guy was all like, come on honey, come do that on stage. So I went up there and tryed and for like the first time in my life I couldn't blow a bubble, just when I was asked to!!! And while I was up there failing in front of EVEYONE this girl in the crowd blew a GIANT one bigger than mine ever was with, get this, ONE PIECE! I felt so dumb!!!
Ok maybe some people think, gosh that's really not that bad, but hey, I was like 10
I thought he looked a little uncomfortable. Like someone when the get totally slammed by Triumph the Insult Dog… Good thing he’s cool 99% of the time. Don’t fret Phil “God gives grace to the humble” (James 4) : )
Haha, that does sound embarrassing. But it happens to almost every music artist.
My most embarrassing moment… well, I have a TON of them, but one that happend recently was a couple of days ago as I was volunteeing in VBS. It was the last day and we were about finishing with our last set of groups. I was a helper for the cinema part where they show the kids a movie.
Anyway, we were going to play a game and I was going to explain it… since it was the last group I already memorized what I was going to say.
Well, for some odd reason I totally forgot everything I was going to say. I kept trying to say the rules but nothing was coming out right. I was making no sense and all I could do was laugh at myself. But then a little kid (about 7) somehow figured out what I was trying to say and saved the day! It was emmbarrassing to me, but I’m sure no one noticed… I hope.
Hahah! I love how intensely close that purple thing gets to you! haha and like, how you just laugh and then like clap when he’s like, ” Yeah?….Yeah!” hahah This was awesome.
